normalizing sadness

Looks of envy escape your red eyes.
You try to keep them hidden to no avail. Looking at others made you tell lies. They look so strong, you feel so frail.
Gazes of discontent are only superficial.
Beneath clean ice there are depths unseen.
Some thoughts are better gone and dispelled, To see yourself in the way you’ve always been.
Imperfect and sad, but don’t let that shake you.
Just like the world ahead has always appeared to be.
You’re working, you’re mad. There will be a breakthrough. Good enough to be a bit proud - and ain’t that the key?
