The forest I am

You can’t shake me - I’ve grown roots. Been here all my youth. You’ve seen me grow. Seen me sprout, survive the fires and prosper. Not one to talk down to anymore, in fact: Never was and for sure never will be. Through flames and storms I have found me. While you would just cower like you would do. My leaves been green, red, brown, fallen And they’ve grown again as I rose up again. And again. I am tall enough to throw my own shade. Grow my protecting arms over my domain. My bark as strong as the stones I’ve walked, The crown golden as I say I deserve. I share soil with the ones close to my heart. Listen, I want to be heard: As comes the fall So I will rise. Again. As the forest I am.
